The sitcoms that filled weeknight schedules in the 1990s didn’t vanish when their finales aired. Many have found a second run on streaming services, where viewers can start at episode one without waiting for a rerun slot.

Recent chart data and streaming reports show which of these older comedies are still pulling in viewers. Here are eight of them, with what’s known about where they stand.

The Tia and Tamera Mowry comedy ran from 1994 to 1999 and stayed fondly remembered afterward. Netflix gave a new generation easy access to all six seasons when it added the show in September 2020.

The result was measurable. Shortly after arriving, it entered Nielsen’s weekly streaming Top 10 with 432 million minutes watched, despite ending more than two decades earlier. That is a strong showing for a show whose cast members were teenagers when it began.

Martin Lawrence’s sitcom ran from 1992 to 1997, and its audience hasn’t gone away. Across its five seasons, it accumulated roughly 95 million viewing hours on Netflix in 2025 alone, according to the streamer’s engagement report.

Screen Rant also notes that new viewers discovered a comedy centered on successful young Black professionals years before similar ensemble sitcoms became television staples. Streaming availability, in other words, helped viewers reassess the show’s influence as well as its jokes.
