Katy ISD Limits AI Use in Elementary School Classrooms

In an effort to address concerns about the influence of artificial intelligence on early childhood education, Katy Independent School District has rolled out comprehensive restrictions on AI applications within its elementary school classrooms. This initiative is designed to uphold traditional pedagogical approaches and ensure that young learners develop essential skills independently, without excessive dependence on AI-driven tools. While educators retain the ability to utilize AI for administrative and organizational purposes, direct student engagement with AI during instructional time is limited and requires explicit administrative approval.
